Commander: Iran Enjoys Top Military Power in Region

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian Army commander on Saturday underlined the military might and power of the Iranian Armed Forces, and said the Iranian Army is much more powerful than its rivals in the region.

“… there is no army with a power similar to that of the Iranian Army given the fact that willfulness and resistance are the two most important components of success for any army” and the Iranian Army enjoys both these factors at the highest levels, Commander of Qazvin Armored Division Abdolreza Shahri told FNA.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Armed Forces are the largest military unit in the region…it is a powerful and great military power both in quantity and quality,” Shahri reiterated.

As regards the Iranian Army’s tactics for repelling enemy threats, Shahri noted, “Our combat tactics change in accordance with the type of enemy we face, these tactics are indigenous and change every day based on the changes perceived on the international scene and based on change in the type of enemies’ combat techniques.”

Last week, a senior Iranian commander stressed Army’s preparedness to defend the country against any kind of threat, but meantime said that the Islamic Republic Army plans to boost mobility of its forces in the current Iranian year (started on March 21).

“Any threat that is posed to Iran will be nipped in the bud,” Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said on Sunday.

In relevant remarks last month, a senior advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution dismissed enemies’ threats and intensified war rhetoric against Iran, underlining that the country’s Armed Forces are fully prepared to repel any kind of enemy attack.

Speaking to FNA about enemies’ growing intelligence and military threats against the country, Supreme Leader’s Advisor for Military Affairs General Seyed Reza Pardis said, “No enemy, even if it is more powerful than the US and Britain, can trouble the trend of the (Islamic) Revolution’s progress.”

“Given the Iranian Armed Forces’ capabilities and possibilities, the enemy, even a powerful one, is not able to withstand the power of Islam and our combatants,” Pardis added.
